Ever since I was a teenager, I loved the refreshing sweet taste of chocolate milkshakes.  Unfortunately, over the years, I noticed that I had a sensitivity to dairy products.  I do not like to deprive myself of foods that I truly enjoy, which is why I came out with certain recipes that include non dairy substitutions like almond milk.  Believe it or not, the new recipe for this non dairy beverage is quite delicious that brings me back in time, this time I know that this recipe is more nutritious and it will not cause me any discomfort.  I also wanted to make this drink extra nutritious by adding the super benefits of fresh coconut.

After cracking open a fresh coconut, I removed all the brown outer layers and chopped up the pieces and placing them in it’s own coconut water in a glass.  At that point, I placed it all in a blender and pureed it all.  I added 1 tablespoon of it to the drink and kept the rest in the fridge for later use.  I love the combination of coconut and chocolate together.  For me, it’s just like combining peanut butter with jelly.

My recipe for this delicious refreshing drink is as follows:

1 cup Dark Chocolate Almond Milk (sweetened)

1 tablespoon all natural peanut butter

1 tablespoon of fresh pureed coconut chunks

1 whole banana

Ice

Puree in a blender until smooth
