MAKES 6 BIG BURGERS

INGREDIENTS

2 LBS. GRASS FED LEAN GROUND BEEF

1 ORGANIC LARGE EGG

1/4 CUP VERY FINE BREADCRUMBS

1 RED ONION DICED OR (2 SHALLOTS)

2 CLOVES GARLIC MINCED

1 TEASPOON SEA SALT

1 TEASPOON BLACK PEPPER

1 TEASPOON DRIED OREGANO

1/2 CUP CHOPPED FLAT LEAF PARSLEY

1/4 CUP GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE (OPTIONAL)

6 BLUE CHEESE SLICES (OR YOUR CHEESE OF PREFERENCE)

6 LARGE HAMBURGER BUNS

1/4 CUP OF GRAPE SEED OIL (FOR BOTTOM OF THE PAN)

DIRECTIONS

  • PREHEAT OVEN TO 400 DEGREES F.
  • SAUTE CHOPPED ONION AND GARLIC IN A SMALL PAN WITH A TOUCH OF OLIVE OIL, COOK UNTIL SOFTENED ON LOW HEAT.  LET IT COOL AND PUT ASIDE
  • MEANWHILE, YOU CAN ADD ALL THE OTHER INGREDIENTS TOGETHER IN A LARGE BOWL
  • ONCE THE ONION AND GARLIC HAVE COOLED, MIX IT INTO THE MEAT MIXTURE AND SEASON WELL WITH THE SALT, PEPPER & OREGANO
  • FORM THE BURGER PATTIES, I USUALLY MAKE MINE PRETTY LARGE SO I GET ABOUT 6 BURGERS.

BAKE IN A GREASED BAKING DISH WITH GRAPE SEED OIL FOR 45 MINUTES UNCOVERED TURNING OVER ONCE HALFWAY THROUGH COOKING TIME.

DURING THE LAST FEW MINUTES OF BAKING, ADD THE BLUE CHEESE SLICES ON TOP UNTIL MELTED.

REMOVE FROM OVEN AND ENJOY THEM HOT WITH YOUR FAVOURITE TOPPINGS!
